LinkedIn has thousands beyond thousands of executives on it and, as a result, many executive recruiters spend hours searching it. However, for a senior executive looking to stand out, the numbers can be quite a challenge. There are more than 11 million CEOs and more than 1 million CFOs on LinkedIn!
As a result, being found on LinkedIn and identified for opportunities may not be an easy task! Which is why as a senior executive, it is very important to consider your visibility on LinkedIn as well as investing in your own personal branding. One of the things I love about the company I work for, is the fact that it allows executives to have far greater visibility on our platform, than they would have from being on LinkedIn alone. However, executives should not underestimate the power that a professional and visible executive profile can have on LinkedIn, whether that executive is ‘actively’ seeking a role right now or in the future.
Today and tomorrow I am hosting webinars for our GatedTalent members on how executives can be more visible on LinkedIn – for those of you who are interested in learning more please follow the link here: https://www.gatedtalent.com/webinars/.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this article which gives some great tips on how as an executive you can measure the success of your own profile on LinkedIn - and should you join my session this evening, you can use this as way to measure any changes you make to your future profile!
Targeted networking is important. It’s also important to help people find you. I call it planned serendipity. You don’t know who’s looking for you, but you need to be visible and available so they can find and connect with you. Know the keywords that are critical for being found in your field, and make sure your profile is replete with them – especially your headline.
