I've had several discussions recently about hype and the GDPR.  I seem to spend half of my life telling clients that "No, you don't have to delete your database and start again".  The hype is not helped when letters like this - from the CEO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, no less, get published in the Financial Times.  Misleading at best.
